Adriana La Valley is the IDB's Country Representative in Suriname. She leads the IDB's operations in the country, working closely with government officials, development partners, and civil society organizations to promote sustainable and inclusive growth. Mrs. La Valley, a dual citizen of USA and Mexico, previously served as Chief of Operations in Ecuador, Jamaica and Suriname, as well as Operations Sr. Specialist in Washington, DC, having entered the Bank in 2001 in the Private Sector Department. She also served as a Counselor in the Office of the Executive Director for Mexico and the Dominican Republic from 2007 to 2011. She holds a degree from the Guadalajara University in Mexico, a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Master’s degree in Business Law from the American University.
