En este cargo lidera el diseño, ejecución y evaluación de programas para promover la igualdad de género y el empoderamiento económico de las mujeres, área en la que cuenta con más de 20 años de experiencia en investigación y políticas públicas. Editó el libro "Mujeres en el trabajo: desafíos para América Latina" y ha publicado numerosos artículos en revistas académicas revisadas por pares. Antes de unirse al BID, dirigió el Departamento de Investigación de la agencia de competencia en Venezuela y enseñó microeconomía en la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello y en la Universidad Central de Venezuela. Tiene una maestría en Gestión de Políticas Económicas de la Universidad de Columbia y una maestría en Administración de Empresas del IESA, Venezuela.
