María José Martínez es consultora de género y diversidad en la División de Capacidad Institucional del Estado del Sector de Instituciones para el Desarrollo del BID. Antes de ingresar al BID, trabajó en el Ministerio de la Mujer y la Equidad de Género de Chile, liderando el diseño, implementación y monitoreo de proyectos de cooperación internacional en género y derechos humanos. Anteriormente, apoyó la formulación de políticas públicas y la investigación de casos de discriminación por razón de género y en contra de grupos de población diversos en organismos gubernamentales basados en Nueva York. María José es chilena, abogada de la Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez de Viña del Mar, tiene una maestría en Derecho de la Universidad de Columbia, Nueva York, y recibió una Columbia Law School Public Interest and Government LL.M.
