Gustavo Sanchez
Gustavo Sánchez is a consultant for the Fiscal Management Division of the IDB and part of the FISLAC team. He has worked as a consultant for the French Development Agency (AFD) and the General Directorate of Macroeconomic Policies at the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit of Colombia. Additionally, he has served as a young researcher and assistant professor in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Rosario. His expertise encompasses various areas, including macroeconomics, public finance, applied econometrics, and machine learning. He has published in the academic journal "Emerging Markets Review" and presented several working papers at the IDB, addressing topics related to macroeconomic and fiscal policy. Furthermore, he has contributed to the preparation of the fiscal chapters of the IDB's flagship report "Development in the Americas: Dealing with Debt," as well as the bank's annual Macroeconomic Reports. Gustavo is an economist with a master’s degree in Economics and another in Public Policy Economics from the University of Rosario in Colombia.
