Susana Cordeiro Guerra serves as the Manager of the Institutions for Development Sector at the Inter-American Development Bank. Previously, Cordeiro Guerra led Brazil’s national statistical agency from 2019 to 2021, where she spearheaded reforms of the 12,000-person agency to modernize the production of official statistics and the national census. Prior to joining the Brazilian government, Cordeiro Guerra was an economist at the World Bank, where she focused on impact assessment of public sector reforms in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Masters in Public Administration and International Development from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a BA in Social Studies from Harvard University.
