Laura Profeta fue nombrada Jefa de la Oficina de Integridad Institucional (OII) desde el 1 de julio de 2018, después de haber ocupado el cargo de Jefa Interina desde el 1 de junio de 2017. Antes de unirse a OII, trabajó en el Departamento Legal del BID, más recientemente como Jefa Abogada de Operaciones con Garantía Soberana y previamente como Abogada de Proyectos y Supervisora para América Central y México, y para los países andinos y caribeños respectivamente. Antes de unirse al BID, fue asociada especializada en comercio y transacciones internacionales en Bryan, Cave McPheeters y McRoberts en Washington, D.C. Laura se graduó de la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Tulane y tiene un B.A. en estudios latinoamericanos y español de la Universidad de Colorado, y estudió en la Universidad de Sevilla en España. Es miembro anterior del Comité Directivo de la Sección de Derecho Internacional de la Barra de Abogados, la Junta de Directores de BID-IIC Credit Union y la Junta Directiva del Grupo de Servicios Financieros Internacionales, LLC. | Laura Profeta was appointed Chief of the Office of Institutional Integrity (OII) as of July 1, 2018, after having served as Acting Chief since June 1, 2017. Prior to joining OII, she worked in the IDB’s Legal Department, most recently as Chief Counsel for Sovereign Guaranteed Operations and previously as a Project Attorney and a Supervising Attorney for Central America and Mexico, and for the Andean and Caribbean countries, respectively. Before joining the IDB, she was an Associate specializing in international trade and transactions at Bryan, Cave, McPheeters and McRoberts in Washington, D.C. Laura is a graduate of Tulane University School of Law, holds a B.A. in Latin American Studies and Spanish from the University of Colorado, and studied at the University of Seville in Spain. She is a past member of the Steering Committee of the International Law Section of the D.C. Bar, the Board of Directors of the IDB-IIC Federal Credit Union, and the Governing Board of the International Financial Services Group, LLC.
