Héctor Valdés Conroy

Soy Héctor Valdés Conroy, doctor en economía del desarrollo por la Universidad de California, Los Ángeles (UCLA). Después del doctorado, trabajé dos años como consultor en el Banco Mundial, colaborando en la elaboración de un volumen para América Latina y el Caribe que acompañó al Informe sobre el Desarrollo Mundial 2009. Trabajo en el BID desde septiembre de 2007, primero en la Oficina de Evaluación y Seguimiento y, desde noviembre de 2016, en la división de Medio Ambiente, Desarrollo Rural y Gestión de Riesgo de Desastres. Me interesa ayudar a que los miles de pequeños productores agropecuarios de la región tengan un nivel mucho mejor de vida y de forma mucho más armónica con la naturaleza. En mis ratos libres y si el clima está bueno, salgo a andar en bicicleta por los caminos rurales cercanos; si el clima está malo, me quedo en casa leyendo o me meto al cine.
