Nidia Hidalgo

Nidia Hidalgo is a Lead Specialist in the Gender and Diversity Division at the IDB, based in the El Salvador Country Office. She holds a Master's degree in Rural Development Sciences with a specialization in gender and a Ph.D. in Agro-industrial Economic Problems with a specialization in Rural Financial Markets and Gender from the Autonomous University of Chapingo (Mexico). Before joining the IDB, she served as the Gender Area Coordinator for UNDP in El Salvador. Additionally, she has worked as a gender consultant for various international organizations, has been a speaker at seminars and conferences, and is the author or co-author of numerous books and articles.
