Find indicators and information on Latin American and Caribbean countries with a single click
Each year, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) presents a rigorous research report on one of the major economic and social challenges facing Latin America and the Caribbeanm called Development in the Americas (DIA).
Ordinarily, the life of a book ends when we finish reading the last page. Nevertheless, it doesn’t have to be this way—nor should it be—particularly when the book is good and it teaches us to see things differently, and provides important information that can be updated.
With this in mind, the Research Department has decided not to let DIA books suffer the same fate, but to make them into “living books”.
Combining technology with the efforts of Latin America and the Caribbean’s most brilliant researchers, these books were taken out of the memory drawer and transformed into a powerful knowledge tool that is accessible to all with a single click.
Using this tool, you will find in each edition of DIA key messages and some of the indicators, in various formats; we have an iPad app, a mobile app (coming soon), and a database on our Web page.
We invite you to visit and explore, analyze, compare, and share infographics and more than 100 indicators on taxation, the housing market, ICTs, quality of life, exclusion, debt, and institutions from each of the nine editions published to date.
Let the whole world know, and that way you can help put books and their ideas back into peoples’ hands!
