Sus áreas de interés incluyen la economía de la energía, evaluación de impacto y econometría aplicada. Raúl es PhD en Economía en la Universidad de Roma Tor Vergata. Tiene una maestría en Econometría de la Universidad Torcuato Di Tella y en Economía en la Universidad de San Andrés.
