Raquel Bernal is the Rector of the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia) from 2022 and professor of the Faculty of Economics, where she has worked since 2006. Between 2019 and 2022 she held the position of Academic Vice Chancellor. Her research focuses on the areas of social policy, education, early childhood, human capital, household economics and labor economics. She is an expert in impact evaluation and has worked closely with the Colombian government since 2006 to improve public policies in education and early childhood.
