He is the Principal Scientist for Integrated Modeling and Strategic Foresight, Decision and Policy Analysis, CIAT. A geographer by training, Steve leads strategic foresight activities for CIAT, with an emphasis on understanding the impacts of climate change on the agricultural economy and the role of climate as a driver in food system (un)sustainability. He also co-leads a global team supporting the CGIAR Foresight initiative. In addition to foresight, his research leadership includes activities in the development and delivery of climate services and agroclimatic forecasts, approaches to forecast-based finance, and provision of environmental decision support systems.
