Steven Hofwijks es analista principal de Operaciones. En la actualidad se encuentra asignado temporalmente a la División de Medio Ambiente, Desarrollo Rural y Manejo de Riesgos por Desastres (INE/RND) del BID. Su labor consiste en recolectar y analizar datos para la preparación, ejecución y monitoreo de proyectos financiados por el Banco. Estudió Silvicultura y Gestión Ambiental y tiene más de seis años de experiencia en desarrollo. Como estudiante en la Universidad de Surinam participó en varios programas de silvicultura y conservación de la naturaleza con varias organizaciones internacionales como WWF, Conservación Internacional, TropenBos y otras. Su amor por la naturaleza surge de su convencimiento de que somos custodios de la Tierra, razón simple por la que debemos cuidar nuestro medio ambiente.

Steven Hofwijks is an Operations Sr. Analyst on temporary assignment at the Environment, Rural Development, and Disaster Risk Management Division (INE/RND). His work consists of data gathering and analysis for project preparation, monitoring and execution of development projects funded by the Inter – American Development Bank. His studies comprise forestry and environmental management and he has over 6 years of experience in development work. As a University Student in Suriname, he was able to participate in various forestry and nature conservations programs with various international organizations such as WWF, Conservation International, TropenBos and others. His love for nature originates from the conviction that we are stewards of this earth and that simply because of this reason we need to take care of our environment.
