Sandra López
Sandra López is a climate finance and city specialist. She is an expert in designing and executing projects, policies, and investments that promote low-carbon and climate-resilient development at the national and sub-national levels. Currently, she is working at the World Bank mainstreaming climate change in the urban agenda, in rapidly urbanized cities in Africa and South Asia, and supporting the WB´s strategy on aligning its urban operations to the Paris Agreement objectives. Sandra has previously worked at the IDB originating multiple sectoral projects for accessing concessional climate finance; mainstreaming climate change into operations; and supporting countries to develop investment plans for NDCs and Decarbonization Plans implementation. Sandra worked for the Ministry of Environment of Colombia as Climate Change Mitigation Group Coordinator and participated in the international Climate Change Negotiations. Sandra holds a MSc in Environmental Management and Policy from Lund University, Sweden; and a BSc in Civil Engineering from Javeriana University, Colombia.
