Ancor Suárez-Alemán

Ancor Suárez-Alemán, PhD., es economista y especialista en Asociaciones Público-Privadas (APP) en la Vice-presidencia de Países del BID. Ha trabajado en el campo de la infraestructura y la política económica durante más de una década, centrándose en inversión y financiamiento, la economía y las políticas de infraestructura, la evaluación de proyectos, eficiencia, competencia y regulación. Entre otras actividades, en la actualidad coordina la agenda económica del equipo APP y el Bien Público Regional de Análisis y Buenas Prácticas en Asociaciones Público Privadas en América Latina y el Caribe. Antes de unirse a la Vice-presidencia, trabajó como economista en el departamento de Infraestructura y Energía del Banco, y en el Banco Mundial para la región de Asia del Sur. Con anterioridad, colaboró en diversos proyectos de infraestructura para el Gobierno de España o la Comisión Europea.
En el campo de la investigación, además de diversas publicaciones y productos del BID, ha publicado un libro sobre competitividad portuaria en el Banco Mundial y diversos trabajos en revistas especializadas como Transportation Research, Transport Policy, Transport Geography, Regional Studies, or Utilities Policy, entre otras.

Ancor Suárez-Alemán

Ancor Suárez-Alemán, PhD., is an economist and specialist in Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) in the Vice-presidency of Countries of the IDB. He has worked in the field of infrastructure and economic policy for more than a decade, focusing on investment and financing, infrastructure economics and policy, project evaluation, efficiency, competition, and regulation. Among other activities, he currently leads the economic agenda of the PPP team and the Regional Public Good for Analysis and Good Practices in Public-Private Partnerships in Latin America and the Caribbean. Before joining the Vice Presidency, he worked as an economist in the Bank's Infrastructure and Energy department, and at the World Bank for the South Asia region. Previously, he collaborated in various infrastructure-related projects for the Government of Spain or the European Commission, among others. In the field of research, in addition to various IDB publications and products, he has published a book on port competitiveness at the World Bank and various works in specialized journals such as Transportation Research, Transport Policy, Transport Geography, Regional Studies, or Utilities Policy, among others.
