Ignacia Lecaros
Ignacia is a consultant in the Gender and Diversity Division, where she works on strategic alignment with gender and diversity groups, as well as on the design of projects and tools that contribute to advancing the inclusion of these groups in the region. Before joining the IDB, Ignacia worked in the public sector and in nonprofit organizations, focusing on poverty and inequality reduction in the region, especially among groups facing greater social and economic barriers. She began her career as a project coordinator at an NGO supporting the reintegration of incarcerated individuals into the Chilean prison system. Later, she worked at Chile’s Ministry of Social Development, where she focused on analyzing and evaluating government social programs. Ignacia holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business and a master’s degree in Economics with a specialization in Public Policy from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She also earned a Master of Public Administration with a focus on Social Policy, Gender, and Development from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
