Manoel Regis Lima Verde Leal
Dr. Manoel Regis Lima Verde Leal is the Project Manager of CTBE – Brazilian Bioethanol Science and Technology Laboratory. His work is focused on the study of potential evolution of the technologies applied in the exploiting sugarcane as energy source for the production of ethanol and electricity aiming at the improvement of the Sustainability indicators of bioethanol. He worked at Copersucar Technology Center (CTC) from 1986 to 2004 and Promon Engenharia from 1974 to 1986. Prior to that, he held teaching positions at the Aeronautical Institute of Technology (ITA) and Federal University of Ceará. He was the ISSCT Co-Products Commissioner from 2001 to 2007 and he was the National Team Leader representing Brazil in the Task 38 (Greenhouse Gas Balances and Bioenergy Systems) of the IEA (International Energy Agency) Bioenergy, from 2009 to 2015. He graduated in Aeronautic Engineering at the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronática – ITA in São José dos Campos, Brazil and holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University – KSU in Manhattan, Kansas, USA.
