She holds a B.A. in Global Studies from North Park University in Chicago, USA and completed a Fulbright Scholarship in Andorra. Previous to joining Laboratoria, Karen spent six years at the Institute of International Education (IIE) as Senior Outreach Officer for Latin America and the Caribbean.
