Maripina Menéndez

María Josefina Menéndez Carbajal, mejor conocida como Maripina, es la directora Ejecutiva (CEO) de Save the Children en México. Desde muy joven se ha destacado por su activismo a favor de las poblaciones en situaciones de vulnerabilidad, apoyando con especial atención a comunidades de base en zonas periféricas de la Ciudad de México para lograr el reconocimiento de su derecho a la vivienda y el acceso a servicios. Asimismo, desempeñó una labor importante en la ayuda humanitaria después de los sismos de 1985 y ha trabajado desde hace más de 25 años en asuntos relacionados con la protección de los derechos de las niñas, niños y adolescentes y su entorno. De la misma forma, ha contribuido en el diseño, coordinación, seguimiento y evaluación de proyectos y programas en beneficio de poblaciones excluidas. En términos de incidencia política, Maripina ha participado en negociaciones con diversas instancias gubernamentales en los tres niveles de gobierno. Contribuyó en la formulación de la Ley General de los Derechos de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes y fungió por dos años como representante de la sociedad civil ante el Sistema Nacional de Protección de niñas, niños y adolescentes (SIPINNA). Además, la experta en temas de niñez cuenta con una amplia experiencia en procuración de fondos gubernamentales y privados, tanto a nivel nacional como internacional; por tres años consecutivos fue reconocida como una de las 100 mujeres más poderosas del país por la revista Forbes. Maripina es licenciada en Sociología por la Universidad Iberoamericana y tiene formación en Alta Dirección en el Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa (IPADE). Cuenta con más de 30 años de experiencia en el área social, dependencias de gobierno, educativas, organizaciones sociales y particulares de las cuales ha recibido múltiples reconocimientos.
