A few months ago, we published a post remembering Pat Engle and honoring her contributions on childhood development issues. Today we would like to share good news about a forthcoming initiative to pay tribute to her work.
A new grant called Patrice L. Engle Dissertation Grant for Global Early Child Development has been established to provide opportunities for junior scholars who work or live in developing countries to conduct dissertation research. The Grant will be administered by the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD) and was made possible by the generous donation of the Bernard van Leer Foundation, along with Pat Engle’s friends and colleagues.
The Grant includes US$5,000 to support dissertation research and a 2-year student membership to SRCD. Information about the Grant will be posted soon on the SRCD website. In the meantime, you can request adittional information by e-mailing: [email protected]
We ask our readers to share this news with organizations (universities, professional societies, NGOs) or anyone interested in childhood development.
Best of luck!!
