Serge is a Group Head and Lead Environmental Specialist who works in the IDB's Environmental and Social Solutions Unit. Since 2016 he leads environmental, health and safety and social specialists in the LAC region to ensure IDB projects implement adequately the IDB policies. Serge also spearheads initiatives on innovation, disaster and climate change risks management and to improve efficiency during the project lifecycle. Serge started working for the IDB in 2007 where he supported various complex operations in the region looking at environmental and health and safety aspects and leading capacity building initiatives. Prior to his work at the IDB, he worked in project management in the private sector for more than five years. Serge has an MBA in International Business focused on the environment and development, and 3 additional master's in environmental management, engineering and general management.
