Chiquita C. Resomardono
Chiquita C. Resomardono, is an environmental engineer specializing in Environmental Health and Safety Management. She earned her master’s degree at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. Mrs. Resomardono is a Surinamese citizen and spent the last twelve years in environmental and social management working on the implementation of (non)governmental environmental projects in Suriname. Specifically, projects she has implemented are related to REDD+, chemicals management, waste management, ecosystem services assessments, environmental communications and environmental & social impact assessments. She is currently the Head of the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Department at the N.V.Energiebedrijven Suriname (Energy Company Suriname, EBS). In addition to her responsibility for the implementation of HSEQ management plans, she also manages the execution of environmental and social management plans related to projects which have been financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). Within recent years she has also been active in managing the execution of stakeholder engagement activities of the company in Indigenous and Maroon villages where electrification projects have been implemented.
