Juan Chang

Juan Chang es coordinador temático de sumideros de carbono en el BID. Anteriormente, trabajó como auditor de proyectos forestales para la mitigación de cambio climático para el mecanismo de desarrollo limpio (MDL) y para los estándares del mercado voluntario, siendo uno de los primeros auditores a nivel mundial acreditados para tal fin. Esta experiencia lo llevó a auditar proyectos en más de 15 países de América Latina, África y Asia. Desde los inicios de su carrera profesional ha trabajado en el diseño y manejo de áreas naturales protegidas, en programas de conservación de la biodiversidad y educación ambiental en Perú. Juan es ingeniero forestal graduado en Lima, Perú y tiene estudios de posgrado en gestión de biodiversidad en Alemania y especializaciones en sensoramiento remoto para manejo de bosques en Japón; manejo de paisajes y enfoque ecosistemico en Costa Rica. Además, es auditor acreditado ante UNFCCC y experto REDD para el Verified Carbon Standard.
