Amina Desai is a consultant in the Climate Change Division (CCS) of the IDB, based in the country office of Barbados where she supports the mainstreaming of climate change in national operations. As a native of Barbados, she has seen firsthand the vulnerability of small island developing states to climate change and is deeply passionate about advancing climate action in the region. Her professional experience involves the support of a wide range of environmental projects in the Caribbean, including environmental impact assessments, environmental monitoring programs and climate change adaptation projects in the marine, coastal and agricultural sectors. Amina holds a BSc in Geology and Geography from the University of Manchester (UK) and a Master's in Natural Resource and Environmental Management (Climate Change) from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill
