Desde el mes de agosto de 2020, Felipe Muñoz se desempeña Jefe de la Unidad de Migración del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo. Anteriormente fue el Asesor Presidencial para la Frontera entre Colombia y Venezuela desde febrero de 2018, donde ha coordinado la respuesta gubernamental al flujo migratorio proveniente de Venezuela en los ámbitos nacional y local, al igual que los esfuerzos relacionados de cooperantes, actores internacionales y organizaciones de sociedad civil. Previamente, fue asesor senior para la Mesa de Directores Ejecutivos del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo. Su amplia experiencia en el sector público colombiano incluye haber sido superintendente de vigilancia y seguridad privada, director de la agencia nacional de inteligencia, y asesor para la Alcaldía de Bogotá y el Ministerio de Hacienda y Crédito Público, entre otros cargos. Es egresado de la Universidad Externado de Colombia, donde obtuvo una licenciatura en Finanzas y Relaciones Internacionales, y del London School of Economics and Political Science del Reino Unido, donde obtuvo una maestría en Planeación Urbana y Regional.
