Arnaldo Vieira de Carvalho

Arnaldo Vieira de Carvalho trabajó en el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo – BID de 1997 a 2016, cuando se retiró como Especialista Líder en Energía Sostenible de la División de Energía del BID preparando e implementando proyectos de energía, especialmente eficiencia energética, electrificación rural y energía renovable, incluyendo biocombustibles. Arnaldo fue líder de varias iniciativas emblemáticas de energía del BID como fue el Concurso de Innovación Energética IDEAS, la Iniciativa SEforAll Américas (Energía Sostenible para Todos en América Latina y el Caribe) y el Programa de Biocombustibles para Aviación. Fue director de la Organización Latinoamericana de Energía - OLADE en Quito, Ecuador y Superintendente de Energía de la firma Promon Ingeniería en Rio de Janeiro y São Paulo, Brasil, donde trabajó por más de 15 años. También fue consultor de empresas eléctricas y organismos internacionales como el Banco Mundial, Organización de los Estados Americanos – OEA y diversas agencias de las Naciones Unidas. Es Ingeniero Mecánico graduado en el ITA (Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica) de São José dos Campos, Brasil y tiene una Maestría en Energía por la Kansas State University. Ha publicado más de 200 artículos técnicos, libros y presentaciones sobre energía. Actualmente es consultor Senior de Energía Sostenible en el BID en Washington, DC, EUA.
