If you have fresh ideas on how to finance the management of our ecosystems in a sustainable matter, we would love to hear from you. Send us an abstract of your proposal for the opportunity to present your ideas at the Innovative financing for ecosystems management seminar at World Water Week 2018.
The seminar will take place in Stockholm, Sweden in August 2018, when experts, academics and stakeholders from all over the world will gather to discuss the future challenges for the water and sanitation sector.
The 2030 Development Agenda acknowledges the importance of sustainable management of natural resources. Natural infrastructure can be part of the solution.
For World Water Week 2018, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Stockholm International Water Institute, the African Development Bank and The Nature Conservancy have joined forces to discuss how to develop enabling conditions and innovative financing mechanisms that can scale up existing and new natural infrastructure solutions in Latin America and throughout the world.
This World Water Week Scientific Seminar will focus on the following questions:
- what are the enabling conditions that promote the development of markets? and
- ii) can innovative mechanisms such as impact investments, green bonds, climate funds, payment for environmental services, venture capital, pooled financing, be scaled up?
The IDB extends the invitation to experts and institutions throughout Latin America and the Caribbean to submit their abstracts here.
More details about the Seminar here. Submission deadline is January 21st, 2018.
