Mauro Alem
Mauro Alem is the Lead Infrastructure Specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, DC. In this role, he leads technical initiatives, policy dialogue, and public infrastructure investment projects in collaboration with Treasury representatives from Latin American & Caribbean (LAC) countries, promoting sustainable development, economic integration, and reforms to eliminate market failures and other barriers to efficient capital allocation, and facilitating private investment in infrastructure. Before his tenure at the Inter-American Development Bank, Mauro Alem served as the President of the National Investment Bank of Argentina from 2009 to 2014. Mauro holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he graduated with honors.
