Victoria Laporte

Victoria Laporte has been a Social Safeguards Consultant at the IDB’s Environmental and Social Solutions Unit (VPS/ESG) since June 2019. She oversees the implementation of high- and substantial-risk projects in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Prior to joining the IDB, she spent ten years at Uruguay’s National Directorate of the Environment, where she specialized in promoting public participation in environmental decision-making and assessing the social impacts of infrastructure projects. She holds a degree in Social Work from the University of the Republic (Uruguay) and a master’s in Environmental Management and Territorial Planning from the University of Barcelona.
