Melanie Argimon

Melanie Argimon es Especialista en Biodiversidad en el Programa BIO del BID donde actualmente trabaja en operaciones de cooperaciones técnicas dirigidas a preservar los ecosistemas prioritarios regionales e integrar el capital natural en sectores económicos. Antes de incorporarse en el BID, Melanie trabajó en el Banco Mundial en proyectos relacionados con la conservación de la biodiversidad, desarrollo rural, gestión de las costas y turismo sostenible en África y Oriente Próximo. Así mismo estuvo un año en Vietnam donde trabajó para una ONG que refuerza la participación local en la conservación de la biodiversidad en comunidades que viven cerca de áreas protegidas, bosques remanentes y tierras degradadas. Posee un Master en Biodiversidad, Conservación y Gestión de la Universidad de Oxford y un Master en Medio Ambiente, Desarrollo y Políticas de la Universidad de Sussex.

Melanie Argimon

Melanie Argimon is a Biodiversity Specialist with IDB’s BIO Program where she presently works on grant operations aimed at preserving regional priority ecosystems and mainstreaming natural capital in economic sectors. Prior to joining the IDB, she worked at the World Bank on projects related to biodiversity conservation, rural development, coastal management and sustainable tourism in Africa and the Middle East. Melanie also spent a year in Vietnam working for a non-profit that strengthens local participation in biodiversity conservation in communities that live near protected areas, remnant forests and degraded lands. She holds a Masters in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management from the University of Oxford and a Masters in Environment, Development and Policies from the University of Sussex.
