Lina Barbosa
Lina Barbosa is a Biodiversity Specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank, where she leads efforts to integrate biodiversity and natural capital into public policy across the Andean region. Her work focuses on advancing nature-positive investments and developing innovative financial mechanisms to support sustainable development. With a background in biology and microbiology, Lina holds a master’s degree in Environmental Science and Management from the University of California. She has over a decade of experience designing and managing environmental projects in Colombia, spanning water security, nature-based solutions, biodiversity conservation, and climate change adaptation and mitigation. Lina has also served as an advisor to the Government of Colombia on institutional reforms aimed at financing national commitments under the Paris Agreement. Her leadership has been instrumental in the creation and scaling of financial instruments to promote climate action in the forestry and energy efficiency sectors.
