Kambiri Cox, MSc, is an international Sector Specialist in the Water and Sanitation Division at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). From her current post in Barbados, Kambiri oversees the development of new operations and supervision of the Bank’s portfolio in water resources, sanitation, urban drainage and solid waste management in Barbados and Jamaica, with further support to other member countries in the Caribbean. With over a decade of experience spanning seven countries, Kambiri has built a robust career as a water and environmental sciences engineer, focussing on water security in emerging economies. Her diverse roles have included positions in public utilities, consultancies, research institutions, nonprofits, and the multilateral development bank. A national of Trinidad and Tobago, Kambiri holds an MSc in Applied Geosciences and BA in Earth Science and from the University of Pennsylvania. She also earned a Joint Masters in Groundwater and Global Change from UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education, Technische Universität, and Instituto Superior Técnico as a European Union Erasmus Mundus Scholar.
