Rodrigo Suescun is a Principal Specialist in the IDB's Fiscal Management Division in Washington, DC. Previously, he represented the Colombian government before the Board of the World Bank and has held various positions as Technical Vice Minister of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, Professor and Director of the Doctorate Program in Economics at the University of Los Andes and Researcher at the Office of the Chief Economist for Latin America from the World Bank. He also worked for several years at the Banco de la República, Banco Central de Colombia, as a researcher and later as Director of the Department of Monetary and Financial Affairs. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics of the Universidad de los Andes and later obtained the degrees of M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
