Lara trabajó en proyectos de comunicación y relaciones públicas para gobiernos en América Latina y Estados Unidos y en campañas de comunicación y marketing estratégico en varias ciudades de la región. Se graduó en Ciencias de la Comunicación con énfasis en Políticas y Planificación en la Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina y posee una Maestría en Comunicación Corporativa de Georgetown University, en Washington DC.
