Sobre Factor Trabajo

Factor Trabajo is the blog of the IDB’s Social Protection and Labor Markets Division.Our goal? To improve lives by strengthening social protection and labor markets, ensuring access to decent jobs and well-being at every stage of life.

In our articles, we share insights about our projects and research, highlight successful experiences, and analyze how social protection and labor market development complement each other to enhance quality of life—always with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean.

An effective strategy to improve lives must integrate social protection and labor policies, ensuring comprehensive support throughout the life cycle. This means providing both immediate relief from risks and long-term opportunities to build human capital, access decent work, and enjoy a dignified old age. By granting people access to both social safety nets and job opportunities, countries can reduce inequality and foster the development of their greatest asset: their people.
