Erivaldo Alfredo Gomes has over 26 years of experience in International Economics, Finance for Development, Public Policies, Climate Action, International Taxation, Sustainable Development, Foreign Direct Investment, and Trade. A Brazilian national, Mr. Gomes currently works as a consultant at the IDB on International Taxation and Sustainable Development, Prior to joining the IDB, Mr Gomes was Executive Director and Budget Committee Chair at The World Bank (WBG) and Member of the Global Infrastructure Facility (GIF) Governing Council. Before working at WBG, he served as the Secretary for International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of the Economy of Brazil, where he was responsible for international economic and financial cooperation across various forums, including the G20, IMF, multilateral development banks, OECD, BRICS, and Mercosur. Mr. Gomes has also held key positions representing Brazil's interests in other international financial institutions, including NDB, CAF, Fonplata, AfDB, and CDB. His academic background includes an MBA in International Trade, a Postgraduate Course in International Relations, a Specialization Course in Public Policy and Government Administration, and a Specialization Course in Economic Policymaking. Additionally, he is an alumnus of the US State Department International Leadership Visitors Program (IVLP) in Global Economy.
