Imagine having key and updated data from the electricity distribution sector in LAC in just one place. Certainly, it would facilitate comparison, analysis, and regional research.
We have good news for you! Next October 27, at 2:30 pm (EDT) the IDB will be launching two initiatives in partnership with the Energy Hub: Electrorating and Electrokit. Sign up!
Why are these initiatives important?
Distribution companies are key players in the electricity sector since they provide and operate the “wires” between the transmission system and customers. Therefore, they are responsible for the communication and engagement with the end-users. In an era of decarbonization, decentralization, digitalization, and democratization, distribution companies become more relevant for the energy sector and their modernization becomes strategic for the whole power sector. This is where the Electrorating and Electrokit tools come at play.
Electrorating is a friendly database that provides comparable annual technical and financial statistics from 2000 to 2020 from 316 electricity distributors located in 19 LAC countries. It aims to provide information for regulators, policymakers, researchers, and experts interested in to comparing and promoting the electric sector’s improvements. This data includes technical and financial indicators, and it is unique in its coverage, size, and composition.
Electrokit is a set of guides that allows public utilities to run a quick diagnostic on how to improve utilities’ performance based on data, literature, best practices, and current trends. Within it, users can find a handbook and a guide with international experiences and potential solutions. The Electrokit helps utility companies identify main challenges and based on best practices develop an action plan to address them, which in turn help the utilities be more sustainable and efficient, improve customer experience and accelerate innovation.
Both tools complement each other, and their main goal is to strengthen LAC’s electric utilities much-needed innovation.
Don’t miss the Electrorating and Electrokit launch on October 27th, 2022, at 2:30 pm (EDT) to be part of the discussion on key topics, such as the importance of data for the energy sector and the use of these tools for electricity utilities. Sign up.
As a friendly reminder, we also invite you to visit the Energy Hub website to stay tuned on new publications and articles related to both initiatives.
