Dr. Luiz Augusto Horta Nogueira is Professor at Federal University of Itajubá and Associate Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Group of Energy Planning of Campinas State University. He has been consultant in energy studies for United Nations agencies (FAO, UNDP, ECLAC) and other international institutions (IDB, OAS), as well as for private and national organizations. He was Visiting Scientist in the Wood Energy Program (FAO, Rome, Italy) from 1997 to 1998 and Technical Director of the Brazilian Regulatory Agency of Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) from 1998 to 2004. He is author of books and papers on bioenergy and energy efficiency
