Ingrid Lavine
Ingrid Lavine is a seasoned environmental and international development professional with nearly 30 years of experience advancing sustainable development and climate resilience across the Caribbean. She holds a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Her career began at the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) of the Government of Barbados, where she led initiatives in pollution control, climate change, and disaster risk reduction. Rising to Deputy Director, she provided strategic oversight and technical guidance on marine, groundwater, air quality, noise pollution, and waste management policies and programmes. In 2018, she joined the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (UK FCDO), where she has served as Senior Programme Manager and now as Climate and Renewable Energy Adviser. Ms Lavine provides technical leadership of the UK’s programme to accelerate the transition towards renewable energy in the region. She leads the UK’s £29.3 million renewable energy programme in the Caribbean and offers technical guidance across a broad portfolio, including renewable energy, disaster risk management, climate-resilient infrastructure, biodiversity, and the blue economy.
