Victoria Laporte
Victoria Laporte is a Senior Sector Specialist in Social Safeguards at the Environmental and Social Solutions Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). During 2022 and 2023, she coordinated the ESG Hub for Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Previously, she served as an ESG consultant from 2019 to 2021. She is currently based in Uruguay, where she oversees and prepares high and substantial risk projects under implementation in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Before joining the IDB, she worked for 10 years at Uruguay’s National Directorate of Environment (now the Ministry of Environment), focusing on promoting public participation in environmental matters and assessing the social impact of infrastructure projects. She holds a degree in Social Work from the School of Social Sciences at the University of the Republic, a Diploma in Environmental Conflicts and Participatory Planning from FLACSO, and a Master’s degree in Environmental Management and Territorial Planning from the University of Barcelona.
