The Energy Division of the Inter-American Development Bank is opening a call-for-proposals focusing on gender-differentiated needs, to strengthen women’s leadership and participation in the energy sector.

Which is the objective?
The case studies should discuss innovative ways in which individuals, non-profits, public and private sector are addressing gender equality in the energy sector.
What should you include in your proposal?
The case study should be prepared to cover one or more subjects, such as energy access, labor market, regulation, and other subjects that are relevant to gender equality. The case studies should cover efforts in Latin America and the Caribbean. Case studies that are applicable to Latin America and the Caribbean are also welcome and should identify and discuss the situation, challenges, project objective, and proposed innovative solutions and intervention (actual actions). You must include results (if any at the time of presenting the paper) and lessons learned from the preparation and implementation of the project.
IDB is very interested in learning about case studies with demonstrated results and positive impact on gender and energy.
How to submit your proposal?
Submit a 1,000-word (one thousand) document by July 31, 2018 to email@example.com.
You can submit your work in one of the following languages: English, French, Portuguese or Spanish.
Proposed structure for case-studies:
- Problem description, situation, challenges
- Project objective
- Main audience
- Proposed innovative solution and implementation
- Main products (outputs), results (outcomes) and impact
- Lessons learned
- Please include: name of authors, affiliation (university, institution, government, company, etc), country of origin, work is framed, country or community where it was implemented, year, author´s contact information (telephone, address and email).
An IDB Committee will evaluate all submissions in terms of innovation, relevance and applicability for the Latin America and Caribbean region.
The IDB Committee will contact the qualifying authors by August 31st 2018, and will invite them to send a full paper and make a presentation by October 31, 2018.
The IDB Committee will invite the 5 finalists to publish their work on one of IDB’s blogs.
The IDB Committee will invite the authors of the 3 top case-studies selected to participate in the “Energy Week” that will take place in Montevideo, Uruguay on December 10 – 14, 2018.
