Ariella Carolino
Ariella Carolino has been a Social Consultant at the IDB's Environmental and Social Solutions Division (ESG) in Brazil since 2022. She holds degrees in Sociology and Political Science from UNICAMP, a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from USP, a specialization in Urban Management Instruments for Climate Change from the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and a degree in Environmental Management Technology from Senac. Her master's thesis, The Role of Social Aspects in Environmental Impact Assessment: Public Regulation in Brazil, Theoretical Advances, and Challenges for Regional Planning, received Honorable Mention at the X Brazilian Prize for Urban and Regional Policy and Planning Master's Dissertations (2015-2017) from ANPUR. She currently works on assessing and managing social and environmental risks and impacts of IDB-financed development projects, overseeing projects in various sectors within Brazil’s portfolio.
