Avelina Ruiz Vilar
Consultant on issues of climate change and urban resilience for the Bank's Housing and Urban Development Division. She has been a consultant for the United Nations Program for Development (UNDP) and the North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CCA) on projects related to social participation and access to information in environmental management. He was an Environmental Policy Specialist at the Clean Air Institute in Washington D.C. where he prepared studies and coordinated initiatives to mitigate climate change and air quality in cities in Latin America. In Mexico City, she worked as coordinator of the sustainable transport program at the Presencia Ciudadana organization, was an associate of the Sustainable Transport Center (Embarq Mexico), adviser to the Hydrocarbons Undersecretariat of the Ministry of Energy. She is currently Technical Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Mexican organization Efecto Verde. He studied a Master in International Political Economy at the University of Warwick, UK and has a BA in International Relations from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
